Abstract
This paper presents a new method of generating spatiotemporal chaotic spreading sequences using a compound driving key sequence that overcomes the spatial periodicity in the original system. In this way, more usable sequences could be acquired and synchronization could be achieved efficiently. We also give the performance evaluation of code division multiple access (CDMA) communication systems using spatiotemporal chaotic spreading sequences. The numerical evaluations of bit-error ratio (BER), which is caused by multi-user interference or additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), show that the spatiotemporal chaotic spreading sequences possess excellent performance for CDMA systems
