Abstract :
Value added service (integrated service) is emerging as a strategically important issue for enterprise and public service provider infrastructures alike. The proposition of this value-added multiservice networking is the combination of all types of communications-data, voice and video-all on one dedicated access line (DAL) infrastructure. Value-added service is a service that increases the worth of your basic offer relative to your competition. It accomplishes three business goals: gives the customer something they desire; differentiates you from your competition; ensures the company achieves its financial goal. Value added service will enable a telco to serve customer´s voice, frame relay, ATM, private line, and Internet access-all on one dedicated T1 access line. This service provides end-users with improved price performance through more efficient use of bandwidth, and one-stop-shopping for voice and data communication needs. The paper looks at the potential cost savings for the services that can be offered and at pricing and billing options
