Abstract
Cell delineation is the most important part of WATM cell flow processing. First, this paper analyses the effect of checking index and protecting index in cell delineation, based upon a given cell structure for a private wireless ATM. A new algorithm, called fixed-window continuous division algorithm, is then proposed for bit-by-bit cell flow delineation of WATM. Lastly, the implementation circuit is given which can provide an integrated function of bit-wise cell delineation, HEC generation and the generation of cell header error correcting and detecting factors. The approach facilitates FPGA design and makes good use of the limited resource in FPGA
