Abstract

The research was designed to investigate factors affecting the acceptance of CASE tools within New Zealand. The research involved an analysis of the relevant literature, surveys and interviews. The questionnaire results would suggest that there is a poor uptake of CASE within New Zealand. The two main reasons for this appear to be the high cost, in the New Zealand context, of integrated CASE tools and a lack of education regarding CASE. From the interviews with software engineers, a list of features for `the ideal CASE tool´ was formulated
