Abstract
Summary form only given. A frequency plan has been demonstrated which brings nearer the reality of ultra-dense WDM in core or access networks. A single laser can achieve this at transmitter level or in protection/inventory mode for numerous lasers. An electronic look-up table with drive currents for the four laser sections has been found to be reliable at reproducing optical spectral output even without feedback or locking. The basis for this stability is the complex laser characterization and data processing, which has been optimized
