I describe recent practical instrumentation and measurement technologies based on 1.55-μm photonics, covering the frequency range of microwaves to millimeter waves. We have reviewed recent progress in photonic electro-optical instrumentation and measurement for interrogating microwave to millimeter-wave devices, ICs and modules
