Abstract :
Delay plays an important role in real-time multimedia applications. In this paper, the delay probability distribution function (PDF) and the approximate expression for the equivalent bandwidth for the real-time multimedia flow have been developed using a fluid flow method. The impacts of some relevant parameters have been investigated by numerical computation and simulation analysis. The expression is computationally simple and convenient for real-time bandwidth estimation and control
