A smart distributed estimation system usable on a mobile computer

To cope with recent intensively competitive industrial situations, a smart distributed estimation system for elevator renewal for use on a mobile computer was developed. This system comprises mobile computers and wrap servers. The former includes goal-centered knowledge for complex business-operation, and the latter includes knowledge for system-linkage. Utilizing such knowledge, this system can exploit various divisions´ knowledge existing in conventional systems without changing software. Experimental results show that this system enabled even an inexperienced sales engineer to estimate effectively and promptly from a mobile or remote computer outside the office.
