Abstract :
When distributed arithmetic techniques are employed in field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) to implement digital signal processing algorithms, performance levels achieved are orders of magnitude greater than those obtained with traditional signal processors. This paper aims to show that digital integrators exploit the possibility for high resolution and high performance offered by FPGAs and bring alternative approaches to implementing DSP algorithms. One application demonstrates how digital integration in the analysis of a signal can improve on the results of a mathematical approach
