Abstract :
The design of a 2-dimensional phased antenna array based on hybrid nonlinear delay line (NDL) technology is presented together with a description of the test setup. A true time delay controlled, 4×4 phased antenna array with a beam scanning angle of approximately ±10° at 5 GHz center frequency is currently under development. An initial proof-of-principle demonstration of this concept was implemented successfully in a 1×8 1-D array by Hsia in 1998. The newly designed array provides fully 2-dimensional beam steering capability, leading to a simple, compact and reliable system
