In 1999, Chalmers Medialab initiated a voluntary mentor programme for students with a special interest in digital media. The purpose of the programme is to enhance the students´ skills within the field, to recognize the value of student competencies, and to identify and promote good ideas. The students work in interdisciplinary projects and have access to high-end research equipment. Thorough documentation ensures process tracking and side-effect management. Participation in the programme is a strong additional qualification, and interest from industry is great
