Summary form only given. To facilitate community involvement in environmental management issues, workshops and lectures on human health risk assessment (RA) are designed for community groups. The article describes the development of lectures in risk assessment for community groups at contaminated sites. Methods of teaching and course organization are adapted to deal with the complexity and multidisciplinary nature of the subject and the heterogeneity of the audience
