Abstract :
In order to position power quality effectively within a utility, you must first know your goals. What are you trying to accomplish by having a power quality “offering”? Are you trying to improve customer satisfaction? Are you trying to generate revenue? Are you trying to create a sense of customer “loyalty”? Once you answer these questions, draft a power quality mission statement that aligns with your corporate mission statement. In order to gain support from upper management, you must have alignment. Other aspects that must be addressed include deciding what products and services to offer, how to organize the department and document your processes, and how best to reach and inform customers about your expertise. Whether starting a new power quality program or making major changes to an existing one, power quality efforts can be successful if well positioned within the utility
