Abstract
The goal of this paper is to analyse aircraft electric systems in order to study the problems related to the power quality. In particular, electromagnetic compatibility and atmospheric electricity are presented and discussed, typical protection design and standard requirements are also reported in the paper. The use of an EMTP program for simulating electromagnetic disturbances on aircraft is highlighted with reference to an example of cable layout in the Airbus 320
