Abstract :
Fourier transform-based algorithms have been popular for voltage flicker analysis; however, their accuracy is unfavorably influenced by the leakage effect. This paper presents a wavelet-based algorithm for voltage flicker analysis. The algorithm can accurately extract the voltage flicker components by the direct demodulation of the voltage signal. The performance characteristics of the algorithm are evaluated with examples of appropriate simulated and field data. The results illustrate the proposed algorithm is free of leakage effect problems
