Abstract
The authors consider that EvTool is a powerful system to evaluate and compare radiotherapy (RT) plans. Its importance grows with the complexity of RT techniques, and for this reason its use is particularly indicated inside a system such as ERGO, dedicated to a dynamic MLC. i.e. as a Linac high technology accessory. In fact the authors think that without an appropriate quantitative evaluation system, such as EvTool, RT runs the risk that the new technologies now available will be strongly underused because the physicists´ and physicians´ intuition and clinical experience will be insufficient
