Abstract
A capacitive divider is being used in power engineering for instrumentation and protection purposes. This paper proposes schemes based on this idea for supplying power to small rural loads in the vicinity of EHV lines. A preliminary investigation into the feasibility and practicability of the proposed schemes is discussed. The schemes are found to have additional advantages such as EHV line reactive power support and improved voltage regulation
