Abstract
The goal of this paper is to evaluate occupational doses in different medical areas. The data obtained correspond to 173 institutions, about 596 operators, distributed in different areas in the following way: 49.3% conventional radiology, 10.4% interventional radiology, 9.6% tomography, 2% mammography, 4.9% odontology, 6.1% nuclear medicine, 15.7% radiotherapy, and 2% brachytherapy. The Service of Personal Monitoring of CER, is a monthly replacement film type using Kodak Personal Monitoring film Type 2, the sensitivity of the method is 0.2 mSv. With the present dose annual permissible maximum at 20 mSv/yr, the results obtained show that the dose absorbed by the professionals, is below 10% of the limit value. The weak point of radiation protection philosophy in medical applications is in the work of interventional physicians who take part in a number of angiography procedures for about half an hour with each patient
