Abstract :
The goals of this talk are to: (1) review the source strength specification quantities and NIST standards employed for Pd-103 and I-125 interstitial brachytherapy sources; (2) review the role played by Monte Carlo simulation in the clinical dosimetry of these sources; and (3) describe clinical implementation of dosimetry and source strength standards, with emphasis on selection of prescribed dose and published AAPM guidance
