Abstract :
Summary form only given. A photonic crystal is an artificial multidimensional periodic structure composed of two kinds of material. It is characterized by the following optical properties: bandgaps, high dispersion in pass bands, and anisotropy in the band structure. The paper reports on the fabrication of photonic crystals for the visible range and their applications for optical pick ups by utilizing their anisotropy.
