Title :
Laser cooling by 65 K of Yb/sup 3+/-doped ZBLANP glass
Author_Institution :
Los Alamos Nat. Lab., NM, USA
Abstract :
Summary form only given. Anti-Stokes photoluminescence cooling of a Yb/sup 3+/-doped ZBLANP optical fiber has been accomplished by optical pumping at 1015 nm. The temperature drop, as determined by temperature-dependent changes in the fluorescence spectrum, is 65 K.
