Abstract :
Summary form only given. The hole doped perovskite manganese oxide materials have recently received much attention due to fascinating phenomena such as colossal magnetoresistance (CMR). We seek to better understand the strong correlation physics of the CMR materials by time-resolving the dynamic response of electron, lattice and spin. We specifically investigate role of the dynamic structural distortion in the phase transition of the CMR materials. It has been proposed that the coupling of electrons to lattice distortion is crucial for understanding the CMR materials. However, the dynamics of the lattice distortions and their coupling to electronic transitions have not been addressed experimentally to date.
