Abstract :
A new EDA tool called A|RT-Designer has been explored allowing one to create VHDL code out of a C-code description. On the example of a 64-point FFT with rather hard requirements for an OFDM radio, a solution was found that is close to hand-optimized code available from the vendors. The experience in hardware exploration on a C-level obtained by the tool is reported in this paper.
