Abstract :
The one-dimensional New Mersenne number transform was introduced for signal processing applications to solve the problem of short transform lengths and lack of fast algorithms associated with the use of the conventional Mersenne number transforms. In this paper, the two-dimensional new Mersenne number transform (2-D NMNT) is discussed in more details and the 2-D vector-radix algorithm is developed for fast calculation of 2-D NMNT. This algorithm is found to be faster and more efficient than the row-column approach
