Abstract :
In order to provide a formal definition of the model validation problem, it is necessary to provide more details on an uncertainty model that consists of a nominal model and an additional model uncertainty or allowable model perturbation. The following problems are described: model validation via optimisation; uncertainty models based on coprime factor perturbation; and closed-loop model validation using coprime factorisation
