Abstract
Usually the correlation approach is used to detect the multifrequency signals in the detection process of multifrequency register signals between the offices in China´s telephone networks. A new approach based on fourth-order cumulants is presented in this paper for detecting the multifrequency signals effectively. The new detection approach is made feasible by use of the TMS320 fast-speed single-chip-computer and has better performance in suppressing noise than the correlation approach
