  • Abstract
    This research is focused on the study of local-type image registration techniques, which concern the establishment of transform mapping between pixels of two correlated images with local deformation. The proposed algorithm is actually hybrid that locally dynamic corrective matching and global surface-spline fitting techniques are combined. Results of the former processing provide sufficient information for fast control-point pairing that is formally the most challenging task for the latter fitting processing. Simulations and some comparisons are demonstrated by using medical infrared thermographs. Other applications also include integration of multi-modal medical images, motion analysis in computer vision, etc
