Abstract :
A three-dimensional fish behavior analysis based on feature extraction using time sequential geometric modeling is reported. The principle of the modeling is based on the intersected viewing pyramid consisting of each image boundary of the object and the corresponding focal point. Three-directional video images are simultaneously acquired and sequential solid models were then reconstructed to obtain behavioral parameters such as body shape, skeleton, head, tail, gravity center, direction, attack angle, trajectory, velocity, acceleration, and moving energy. This procedure is entirely automatic requiring no manual operation and appears to have considerable utility in tracking and measurement of moving objects.
