Abstract :
The management of information and communication technology (ICT) in developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is an emerging challenge. In order to meet this challenge, many organizations in this part of the world are making efforts that include examining current models that promise to provide solutions to problems, which are similar to those found in the developed world. However, a study of many of these models reveals that most of them have themselves inherent limitations and are largely impractical, costly, consume a lot of time to implement and do not address the situation-specific problems that are unique to organizations in SSA. This paper proposes to address the problem by adopting the management paradigm and the capability levels of the capability maturity model, with the aim of improving ICT management processes within public universities in Kenya
