Abstract :
Apparently, the tendency to connect power systems by AC and DC links and create large international and intercontinental interconnections is obvious for the specialists. This tendency has been named “globalization of electric power systems”. It is mainly characterized by using system effects, that appear when maneuvering energy resources, generating capacities and power flows. In doing so the main objective of extending and connecting power systems is to supply electric power and power services of high quality and with high reliability to consumers on the whole territory of the interconnection. Here, the author examines the prerequisites of a joint Euro-Asian electric power infrastructure
