Abstract :
Negative beamformers are well known for their high angular selectivity, which makes them suitable for speech enhancement and directional source separation. A limitation to the applicability of negative beamformers is the steering problem. A new technique for scanning the whole frequency range of interest is shown based on a nonlinear mapping function from angular positions to steering factors. The effects of this technique in treating narrow- and broad-band sources are studied
