Abstract :
In this paper, an eigenfilter is presented to eliminate 60-Hz power line interference and noise in the electrocardiogram. The filter is designed by maximizing the signal to noise ratio under the constraint that 60-Hz interference is zero-valued at filter output. The optimal filter coefficients are obtained from the eigenvector associated with maximum eigenvalue of a correlation matrix. Several experiments are made to demonstrate the performance of our method
