  • Abstract
This paper is concerned with the optimal realization of a state-estimate feedback controller with finite word length coefficients. First, a novel measure is derived to evaluate the sensitivity of a closed-loop transfer function w.r.t. the coefficients of a state-estimate feedback controller by using a pure L2-norm. Next, an iterative procedure is developed for constructing the optimal state-space realization of a state-estimate feedback controller with minimum L2 sensitivity. A suboptimal solution is then presented in a closed form, which serves as the initial estimate at the iteration process. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the utility of the proposed technique
