Abstract :
The FPGA design for both one- and two-dimensional order statistic filters is developed based on an efficient approach for implementing such filters in the binary domain. The order statistic filters are configurable so that different order statistic filtering functions can be realized using the same structure. The design was completed in an integrated computer-aided design environment. The design cycle is shortened by using VHDL based synthesis and FPGA technology
