Abstract :
A low-power 1.8 V very high performance operational amplifier has been designed in 0.18 μm CMOS technology, in order to be used in switched capacitor (SC) channel select filters for IS-95 as well as 3G wireless receivers. An in depth description of the design procedure and all the considerations which have been made to optimize the performance of this amplifier are presented. It exhibits a very large GBW (Gain-Bandwidth) product of 270 MHz while it has a DC gain of 53 dB. A very high slew-rate of 78.8 V/μs makes the utilization of high clock frequency for the SC filter very simple
