Abstract :
This paper presents a modelling architecture for the Signaling System No.7 (SS7) transport mechanism, specifically Message Transfer Part Levels 2 and 3. This model was developed in strict accordance with the ITU-T Recommendation Q.7XX Series. The simulation model presented uses a hierarchical approach, with each level corresponding to the SS7 level modeled. Simulation results of different scenarios using varying parameters, such as packet transmission time, packet length, and load sharing, for a typical SS7 network are also presented
