Abstract :
This paper describes an IF upconverter block, comprising buffers, a mixer, a synthesizer and a VCO, integrated into a single IC for a multicarrier GSM 900/1800 base station transmitter. Multicarrier nature in transmitter means very challenging linearity requirements, in particular when maximum integration is targeted. Therefore this chip reached a very high value of -72.5 dBc IMD3@Pout=-28 dBm/tone. An 0.8 μm CMOS process with 5 V supply was used
