Abstract
This paper provide to students, teachers, workers, practitioners and researchers, an investigation of academic entrepreneurship process in details, based on theoretical, social and economic approaches with the basic characteristics of the phenomenon as an introduction to further consideration within global competitiveness. In turn, academic entrepreneurship has an increasing importance in the context of economic development or, better sustainable development, and becomes a crucial issue to explore. It also provides an examination into the effectiveness of the policy-driven approach in enhancing academic entrepreneurship.
