Abstract
This paper is dedicated to a probabilistic analysis of the cell delineation (CD) procedure. To perform this analysis, a special Markov chain model was developed that takes into consideration the possible ways to lose per-cell synchronization in the ATM data link. Specifically, two processes are formulated. The first one corresponds to erroneous bit flow and the second process pertains to synchronization failures
