Abstract :
New pump-probe experiments quantify XPM-induced distortion in, dense WDM. RZ dispersion-managed transmission over standard fibre. Despite the collision-induced timing jitter, the use of appropriately dispersion-managed quasi-soliton pulses can extend transmission distances by a factor of 2 compared to NRZ-based systems.
