Abstract :
We demonstrate 640 Gb/s (32 ch/spl times/20 Gb/s) WDM transmission with 0.4 (bit/s)/Hz spectral efficiency using short-period dispersion-managed fiber (Perfect Cable/sup TM/). The average Q-factor was measured to be better than 18 dB after transmission over 280 km.
