Abstract :
We have demonstrated 50 GHz-spaced 40 Gbit/s/spl times/64 WDM unrepeatered transmission over 230 km using a low-noise Raman amplifier, 170 /spl mu/m/sup 2/-Aeff fiber and bandlimited RZ signals without polarization-demultiplexing at the receiver. 2.56 Tbit/s capacity was transmitted with only 25.8 nm bandwidth.
