Abstract
Two antenna types have been considered for low cost satellite ground terminals. In order to reduce the cost of high frequency power generation solutions for each antenna type have been identified that are compatible with distributed power amplification. These have been optimised, and the antennas assessed for the tolerance of the achieved sidelobe level with respect to amplifier variability. It has been determined that the array fed reflector has a significant advantage over the subarrayed flat plate array
