Abstract
A new measuring method and data processing algorithm designed for identification of the mechanical properties of human respiratory system are presented in this paper. The measuring method depends on actuation of the tested system by short-time pressure pulse generated at airducts outlet. The generated pressure pulse, as well as caused transfer states in patient breathing flow are the directly measured signals. These measured results are the basis of parameter estimation of the respiratory system. The proposed estimation algorithm allows effective estimation of all parameters essential from the diagnostic point of view
