Abstract :
Polarization division multiplex doubles optical fiber capacity. Interchannel interference is detected in the RX and employed as a control signal for polarization tracking. Transmission over 33 km of DSF with a 6.25 ps polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) tolerance is demonstrated.
