  • Abstract
    We report on the first Er/sup 3+/-Yb/sup 3+/ doped planar waveguide amplifier with +14 dBm output power which we use as a post-amplifier for the DWDM transmission of eight wavelengths, each carrying 35 6-MHz 64-QAM channels, over an unrepeated span of 175 km.
