Abstract :
The paper is focused on system identification in closed loop and control using eigenstructure assignment, that is, an eigenstructure based adaptive control. The well-known recursive least square algorithm for system identification is briefly presented and a methodology for generating decoupled motions, which can be used to improve tracking and accuracy by using eigenstructure assignment will be introduced. An example of a simple model is presented to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed algorithm and confirms the possibility of extension into flight control problems
