Abstract
In this paper a cross relation matched field inversion (MFI) is considered to estimate geoacoustic parameters from experimental data recorded from the Pacific Shelf near Vancouver Island. The inversion uses the ship broadband radiated data as a sound source to estimate the water depth, upper compressional speed of the first layer, and first layer thickness. We present a successive search algorithm by classifying the geoacoustic parameters based on the depth of acoustic wave penetration in the ocean bottom with respect to the frequency
