Abstract
Next generation networks (NGNs) will support a variety of communications services (data, video, and voice) seamlessly. Customers will demand that these networks be highly reliable as more and more traffic and services use them. Because of the historically exceptional reliability of wireline voice telephony, the reliability of voice services supported by NGN voice over packet (VOP) necessitates special attention in order to achieve customer satisfaction of the service
