Abstract
The problems of deafness and muteness have always been present. The dynamics and frequency ranges of the hearing perception of deaf people are too narrow. So a lot of deaf people can´t perceive speech or other sounds clearly even if a sound amplifier is used. The author examines the possibility of sound perception in the form of a vibration signal. It is proved by practice that a person can perceive some acoustic characteristics of speech clearly, such as intensity, duration, and pitch. Several experiments with the aim to define the exactness of recognition of vibration signal frequency have been carried out. The results of the experiments confirm the possibility of recognition of vibration frequencies. Several algorithms for transformation of a sound signal into a vibration signal have been designed. These algorithms use the change of initial frequency
